Finding a unique niche is the best way to differentiate yourself in a saturated market. All of us have unique services to offer. Experience can lend itself well to understanding what that niche might be. Then, providing service offerings around this niche based on what the market needs will bring success.

What is one simple thing you can say (or write) to customers to make them feel valued?
Having empathy is one of the best ways to make customers feel valued. It is critical to put yourself in their shoes so you can begin to understand their challenges. Then, create solutions to combat them. In To Kill a Mockingbird, Atticus Finch teaches us, “You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view—until you climb into his skin and walk around in it.”

What is your best advice for leaders who need to get more comfortable not always having the answer?
The best leaders should not have all of the answers. Instead, they should pull in their amazing teams and key stakeholders to make decisions together using human-centered thinking methods. This is the best way to empower teams and gain alignment very early. This strengthens organizational cultures and also minimizes attrition.
